Greeneview 52Brookville 44 #15 seed Brookville battled the entire night, but the #3 Rams pulled away in the final minutes. This game was a one possession game in the fourth quarter.

Miami East 60 Northeastern 23 Morgan Haney scored 25 points to lead Miami East to the victory, as they built their lead and saw the clock run in the second half. Camryn Miller also produced for the Vikings with a solid effort, scoring 13 points.  Hayley Suchland finishes her career with a 15-point performance. Her 681 regular season points was the most by a player during the 22-game era since Trischa Lacy scored 670 back in 2013, the first year of the new format.

Trotwood 76 Graham 28 Shai McGruder scored a game high 36 points, taking advantage of her play in the paint, to lead the Rams to the first round victory. Trotwood put the game into a running-clock mode midway through the third period, and never looked back.

Tippecanoe 70 Belmont 5 The Red Devils scored the first 66 points of the game before Belmont hit a three with 3:35 left in the game. Tipp played everyone and was led in scoring by Kendall Clodfelter and Ashleigh Mader who each scored 12, and Maddie Frederick added 11. The Red Devils played without both Allison Mader and Cali Stewart.

Covington 57 National Trail 40  – The Covington Buccs  had 3 players in double figures as they defeated the National Trail Blazers 57-40 in the opening round of the sectional tournament at Brookville on Saturday afternoon.  Sammi Whiteman scored 14 points , Victoria Lyle pumped in 13 and Makenzie Long added 10 points, for the Buccs.  National Trail stayed with the Buccs in the first quarter having tied Covington 9-9 at the end of one quarter. Covington then opened  it up in the second quarter out scoring the Blazers 22-8 and cruised after that.

Franklin Monroe 45 Catholic Central 25 – Sophomore  Corina Conley had 11 points at the half and add 7 more in the second, as she lead her Franklin Monroe Jets to a 44-25 victory over the Central Catholic Irish in their first round sectional game, on Saturday at Brookville High School. Franklin Monroe (20-3) will move to take on Cross County Conference  foe the Bradford Railroaders at 7:30 pm Tuesday night at Brookville High School. Bella Cable added 10, all in the first half, and her sister Audrey popped  in 9 for the Jets. Junior Taylor Baker and Freshman Abbigail Peterson lead the Irish with 8 and 7 points respectively,

Troy Christian 46 Tri County North 26 – Sophomore Sarah Earhart had a game high 11 points, 9 in the second half, to lead the Troy Christian Eagles to an opening round sectional win, over the Tri-County North Panthers 46-26 at Brookville High School on Saturday afternoon.  After leading just 16-14 at the half, the Eagles out scored the Panthers 17-6 in the third quarter. Sophomore Sarah Earhart had 9 of those 17 in the quarter. Aubrey Stupp led the Panthers with 16 points.

Tri Village 79 Jefferson 8 – The number one seeded Tri-Village Patriots had no trouble with the outmanned Jefferson Broncos taming them 79-8. Jefferson was unable to get on the scoreboard until there was 1:41 left in the second quarter. Lissa Siler led the Patriots with 17 points, 15 in the first half. Maddie Downing added 14. Jefferson was led by Tianna Hayes with just 5 points while Charyel Jordan-Harrison was the only other scorer with 3 points.
