2017-18 Dayton All-Area Team

NEW: All-Area recommendations must be turned in by Jan. 21 at noon. These MUST come from the high school coach, not parents or fans.

 

The 2017-18 Dabbelt Report Dayton All-Area Team will be released the evening of Sunday, Feb. 11. It will be broadcast live on the Gem City Sports Network at a time TBA later. Following the live broadcast, the entire all-area team will be released on this page.

2017-18 Dayton All-Area info:

In order to be named all-area, a player must play in a minimum of 11 regular season games. This allows for games missed due to minor injuries. In the event of a transfer where a player has to sit the first 11 games, they must play in every remaining regular season game to be eligible.

Also, the number of all-area players in each division is based on the number of Dayton area teams in that specific division.

All high school players are eligible, including freshman. There is also a seperate All-Rookie team that will be released also.

Here is the makeup of the all-area teams:

Division 1– 22 schools: 1st Team and 2nd Team (each team consists of 11 players), plus a Player(s) of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Division 2- 28 schools: 1st Team and 2nd Team (each team consists of 14 players), plus a Player(s) of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Division 3- 20 schools: 1st Team and 2nd Team (each team consists of 10 players), plus a Player(s) of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Division 4- 32 schools: 1st Team and 2nd Team (each team consists of 16 players), plus a Player(s) of the Year and Coach of the Year.

All-Rookie Team- 10 freshman will be named to this team, including a Freshman of the Year.
